Prototype Pins Have Arrived!

Hi All!

We apparently had an update for y'all saved to drafts but were idiots and completely forgot to post it last month! Sorry about that! 😅

We were going to just let y'all know that we'd ordered the prototype pins for this campaign, but instead, we get to just show them to you, because they arrived in the midst of the holidays. We think they look fantastic, but we are going to be making a few changes for the final versions! Take a look!

Why prototypes?

We like to get this small order to ensure our designs translate well and the colors look as good as we expect. A good example of this in action was our previous "YouTuber Pin" campaign. We had some pretty cool designs, but the colors we thought looked good on screen didn't translate well in reality. So getting the prototypes ahead of time helped us make sure the final production run was perfect.

So what's changing? 

Fern (Left) is going to be made a bit bigger for the final version that y'all will get. 

Satchel (Center) is getting a bit of a size bump, and the colors are being tweaked a little so the page colors and bone colors are a bit more distinct. 

Potroast (Right) is just about perfect and won't be seeing any changes.
 

Update to Wraithmarked Support and Update Policies

Hi everyone!

If we haven't made our formal introduction update on this campaign yet: Hi, I'm Eira, Head of Crowdfunding and Fulfillment over here at Wraithmarked and I'm here with my colleague Heather. Nice to meet y'all (or possibly hello again).

I'm interrupting our regularly scheduled updates to let you know that we're slightly changing how we handle a few things here at Wraithmarked, first and foremost, how we offer and manage support. Second, our update frequency. So let's jump right into it!

Wraithmarked Support

Over the last couple of years, we've been very fortunate to see our audience grow considerably and we've expanded to account for that. We started taking email support requests, brought new people on board to help, and transitioned from an email inbox to a ticketing system. None of it has been perfect, but we've always tried to provide you all with the best support possible.

So here we are again, making a change to hopefully improve your experience as well as ours. At time of writing, there are three primary ways for you to contact us: Kickstarter comments, Kickstarter messages, and our support email. Over the last few months, wrangling all of these different channels has exposed a few inefficiencies that we'd like to address.

Effective immediately, if you need help with something, please send an email to [email protected]. If you send us a Kickstarter message, we're going to reply with a form response asking you to send your request to our support email. 

You're of course welcome to comment as you feel you need to and we will reply to your comment as soon as we're able!

Support Hours

If you've never contacted us for any issues, here are a few important things for you to keep in mind. First, we are open 8am - 4pm EST. Second, we are closed on all Federal US holidays. Finally, when you contact us, we will have your request assigned to either Heather or myself AND we'll always do our absolute best to reply to your request within 3-5 business days.

Update Schedule

Over the past couple of years, we've generally held to a firm stance of posting 2 updates on each campaign a month. While in many cases we have plenty to talk about, sometimes— particularly if books are crossing the ocean— there's not much to share. So, going forward, our campaign update policy will be "no less than 1 update a month".  Even though we'll continue in our endeavor to share 2 updates a month with you, there may be months where there is only 1 update.

Remaining Surveys Going Out Now!

Hello everyone!

With our backer survey smoke test successful, we're now ready to send out the remaining surveys! :)

Just to reiterate a couple of the tips from our last update, if you don't see your invite email show up by the end of the day today, please take a look at the following:

• Spam Folder: Survey emails can occasionally find their way to your spam folder. If you don't see anything come through from Backerkit check your spam folder first.
• Apple ID Email Addresses: If the email address tied to your Kickstarter account is a secure Apple ID address, the survey email may be blocked entirely. The email addresses look something like this:  "[email protected]".  If you're not seeing the email from Backerkit, check to see if your email address looks like one of these.
• If after checking everything, you can't find your survey, please send an email to [email protected] and we'll help you get access to your survey!

Going Forward

Here is what you can expect in the coming months as we work on fulfilling this project.

• First, please remember that we operate on a 12-14 month production and fulfillment schedule.
• As we get all of the products made, you can expect to see an update from us 1-2 times a month. So stay tuned here for all the latest!
• Once we have the products and are ready to start fulfillment, we will post an update and send an email giving everyone 48 hours to update their addresses if needed. Once that window closes, you will not be able to update your address yourself and will need to contact us directly to make those changes.
• With addresses locked, we will start packing and shipping. This final step will take some time. We appreciate your patience. ❤️

First Batch of Surveys Going Out!

Hi there, Folks!

We're just about ready to start sending out surveys, but the last piece of that process is what's called a smoke test. To do this, we send out surveys to about 5% of backers to make sure everything in Backerkit is working as it should and that we haven't broken anything. We'll be conducting this test over the next 24-48 hours. If everything goes well, you can expect the rest of the surveys to go out by Monday at the latest!

While we do that, here are a couple of things to keep in mind:

• Spam Folder: Survey emails can occasionally find their way to your spam folder. Once we announce that all surveys have gone out, if you don't see anything come through from Backerkit check your spam folder first.
• Apple ID Email Addresses: If the email address tied to your Kickstarter account is a secure Apple ID address, the survey email may be blocked entirely. A Note on our Support Availability...

There are a couple of us that monitor support emails and messages on Kickstarter. We'll introduce ourselves in a future update, but for the moment we want to fill y'all in on our availability.

We work 8am-4pm EST, Monday-Friday, excluding all US Holidays. If you contact us here on Kickstarter or via email you can expect us to reply in no more than 3-5 business days at the absolute latest— though typically much sooner than that.

It's been an amazing month with y'all, and we hope you feel the same! This is going to be an incredible book and we're pumped to begin working on it - the excitement is real! In the final hours of the campaign, you've helped us cross the threshold and raise more than $193,000! Thank you all so, so much!! <3

NEXT STEPS

Now with the campaign done, here is what you can expect in the coming weeks and months.

• First, Kickstarter will process all of your payments. That will take approximately 15 days.
• Once the payments have been processed, we will send out surveys to the email addresses you have attached to your Kickstarter account.
• Answer your survey questions and grab any extra Add-Ons you want. For those of you asking how to make your tier selections, you'll do that here.
• As we get all of the products made, you can expect to see an update from us at least twice a month. So stay tuned here for all the latest!
• Once we have the products and are ready to start fulfillment, we will post an update and send an email giving everyone 48 hours to update their addresses if needed. Once that window closes, you will not be able to update your address yourself and will need to contact us directly to make those changes.
• With addresses locked, we will start packing and shipping. This final step will take some time. We appreciate your patience. ❤️

Please be aware that the times mentioned above are estimates. We try to stick to them as much as possible but sometimes it takes an extra day or two to move on to the next phase of the process.
